Our Day on the Farm package is aimed at families who are not staying at the farm. It is an opportunity for visitors to discover what everyday life is like on a working farm, to meet our animals and to take part in a choice of fun activities. We are confident that the visit will be a truly unforgettable experience for children, while parents might well be reminded of childhood visits to their grandparents.
Wewill start our visit by saying hello to Emppu the horse and Saimi the pony. The children will have the chance to groom and feed them, and Saimi is always happy to take her young visitors on a little ride. After saying goodbye to Emppu and Saimi, we will move on to the sheep barn. On the way, the children can explore a vintage Fordson Major tractor and see other farm machinery, including a digger.
Over at the sheep barn, you will meet our sheep, Tiku and Taku (Chip ’n’ Dale in English) and our rabbits. The children can feed the animals and will even have the chance to brush them. After our getting to know you session, we will take Tiku and Taku outside for some sheep agility training. Once we have successfully run, jumped and wiggled through all the obstacles on the agility course, we will have just enough time for what we like to call the farmyard amusement park, with fun activities like catching (toy) mice, milking a (toy) cow and hobbyhorsing. In winter, you can also try your hand at some snowshoe walking.
As we leave the sheep barn, the sheep will accompany you down to our barbecue shelter. Please bring your own food if you would like to enjoy a meal here. Our sheep will join us outdoors all year round – after all, their lovely thick jumpers will keep them warm and snug no matter how low the temperature dips. After the structured part of your day is over, you will be able to make use of our barbecue shelter and enjoy the 8-hole disc golf course and nature trail.
